Castleconnor GAA Notes:

Benson Cup
The team conceded home advantage on Saturday due to our pitch
improvements and instead played Enniscrone in Quigabar. We were slow to
get out of the blocks and were trailing by 2 points after 5 minutes
but points from Niall Judge and Brian Lynn had us in front by 1 at the
break 0-4 v 0-3. The second half we showed more bite and clinical play
and when Eoin Flynn finished to the net with 10 mins remaining we had
the game in the bag. It was a poor outing but then it was the first of
the year. Conor Judge had an excellent game in his first start at
senior level and he was joined by Keith Foody near the end in his
first start. Next weekend we play Easkey in the second round on
Saturday at 4:30pm in Quigabar.

Abbott Cup
The clubs second senior team for the first time play in this
competition when we play St.Pats in Skreen next Sunday morning at
11:30am. this will be a good chance for lads who do not get a run on
Saturday evening to make a claim for a place on the senior team.

U16
The young lads under the management of Kieran O'Hora, Paddy Joe
Barrins, Shane Feeney and Ronan Keane went to Bonniconlon on Saturday
evening to have their first outing of the year. A good performance
despite it being their first game has the lads ready for next Sunday
where they have their first game. Next Sunday morning the team have
their first league game when they travel to Colloney for an 11:30am
start versus Owenmore Gaels
