Well done to both the Easkey U16 team and the Calry St. Joseph's senior hurling team on their respective victories today
in the Connacht competitions. Easkey beat Cluainin (Manorhamilton) on a scoreline of 4-20 to 2-6 while Calry also beat Cluainin in the Connacht Junior hurling championship on a final scoreline of 5-14 to 0-8. Both teams will now progress onto the next stages of their competitions and we wish them every success.
Finally well done to everybody involved in organising the highly successful visit of the Liam McCarthy Cup to Sligo on this Bank Holiday Monday. Conor Cooney from the victorious Clare champions travelled with the cup to present medals to the county U14 and U16 players. There was a fantastic turnout at the Radisson Hotel to honour all of the players involved and this bodes well for the future of Sligo county hurling at both underage and senior levels for the future.
