Benson Cup Winners.
Our Intermediate team had a superb  win in the Benson Cup Final over Castleconnor in a sun drenched Corran Pk Ballymote on Friday evening last.
Goals in either half from Brian O'Reilly and Paddy Heraghty paved the way for a well deserved victory. With perfect weather conditions, this lead to a very free flowing game of football with fine scoring from both sides.
Final score Calry/StJosephs 2:13, Castleconnor 0;10.
The lads made it back to back wins over the westerners on Sunday evening in the Fureys Coaches League Div 2 fixture with a scoreline of Calry 1:13, Castleconnor 0:13. Next up for the lads is an away trip to Owenmore Gaels on Friday evening at 7.30pm. Our Juniors have their first outing on Sunday evening in Oxfield when we take on near neighbours Drumcliffe/Rosses Pt. This fixture always proves to be a classic encounter and a large crowd is expected so come early!!
Our Minors had their first outing yesterday morning (Monday) against Coolaney/Mullinabreena but results not to hand at time of going to press.
Our u/8's and u/10's had contrasting fortunes last Wednesday v St Pats. The u/8's put up a gallant display against a formidable St Pats outfit but lost out in the end.
Our u10's had better luck when they beat their hosts by the narrowest of margins. There were some very notable performances from our younger stars here and lots to look forward to in the coming games. Training for u/6, u/8 and u/10's continues at Hazelwood at 10.30am on Saturday mornings.
