Minor
Congratulations
to our minor panel and their management team on retaining the Minor ‘C’
Championship title following a hard-fought one point win over Owenmore Gaels at
Markievicz Park last Saturday afternoon.
After a
difficult first half our lads were five points down, but fought back with
vigour to lead by a point going into injury time. However, Owenmore Gaels found
a final score with the last kick of the game to send us into extra time. Two goals in the first half of extra time
proved crucial with Robert Grimes and Nathan Hannon on target, and Nathan
Hannon’s point in the second period proved decisive as our lads held on for a
one point win.
This was a
tremendous effort from the entire tight-knit panel of players, and indeed from
the management team of Brendan Murray, Ray Carden and Eugene Nelson. Congrats
to all involved and we hope to see this bunch of players achieve success again
as their careers within the club continues on to adult level.

Hastings; Jason Morrison, Aaron Hannon; Neil Byrne, James Hannon; Dónal
