Bunninadden
claim Division Three honours
Bunninadden
2-12 Enniscrone/Kilglass 3-4

Bunninadden
clinched the Expert Electrical Division Three title with a hard-fought
five-point win over Enniscrone/Kilglass at the Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence
in Scarden last Monday evening.
In
absolutely atrocious conditions, Bunninadden were inspired by centre-forward
Cian Brett who scored nine points, and created many of the winners’ scoring
opportunities.
A
quick start saw Bunninadden shoot into a 0-3 to 0-0 lead after eight minutes
with Brett on target with all three, as Enniscrone/Kilglass struggled to come
to terms with conditions.
However,
Bradley Nealon netted for the west Sligo side to draw themselves level after 11
minutes, and his second goal would come six minutes later to put
Enniscrone/Kilglass into the lead.
However,
they wouldn’t score again for the remainder of the half and with Barry Cafferky
slotting home a 29th minute penalty, Bunninadden tagged on five more
points to leave themselves in a comfortable 1-8 to 2-0 half-time lead.
Enniscrone/Kilglass
were dealt a blow late in the first half when Finn Nelson received a black
card, and in truth, this was a poor performance from the losers who never
gained any real momentum.
They
showed grit to reduce the deficit to one in the second period after Nealon
found the net again along with points from Ciaran O’Dowd (2), Aaron Duffy and
Steven Hannon, but Bunninadden always remained in control.
Cian
Brett pointed in the 50th minute to extend their lead to two, and
when Adam McGoohan goaled for the winners in the 55th minute, the
title was well and truly secure.
