Local sports clubs claim prizes in Simply Clever Competition

Burns Car Sales, Sligo has announced the winning clubs for the Simply Clever sponsorship competition which took place during the months of June and July. The competition closed on Friday, 24th July with Coolera/Strandhill GAA Club claiming first place, St. Johns GAA Club in second place and Collooney Kickboxing Club in third place in a hotly contested leader board.

2014 was the first year for this competition and due to the enormous success of the campaign Burns Car Sales brought it back for a second year, giving local sports clubs the opportunity to win sponsorship prizes. 16 different clubs got involved over the period of the competition displaying great dedication and community spirit.  

With a total of 462 test drives taken in total, the SKODA Rapid proved the most popular car taken out on test with 226 and the Octavia coming in second place with 190 test drives.

Speaking at the presentation, John Burns, dealer principal, Burns Car Sales said “Today is the culmination of hard work and effort from each of the clubs involved. There was a real community spirit evident throughout the weeks during the competition which was great to see.
