Well done to our U14 hurlers who overcame Benbulben Gaels 5-6 to 2-5 in the league play-off game in Oxfield last week.  The foundation for the win was undoubtedly the workrate shown by our rock-solid half-back line of Keelan Davey, Paul Gallagher and Cormac Henehan, coupled with the penetrating running of our impressive midfield duo of Ethan Scully and Liam O'Kelly-Lynch.  Sean Clifford also did exceptionally well in goals. Team and scorers: Sean Clifford, Brendan Munnelly, Shane Harte, Keelan Davey, Paul Gallagher, Cormac Henehan, Ethan Scully, Liam O'Kelly-Lynch (0-1), Oisin Davey, Aaron Mulvey (1-0), Michael Morgan (0-5), Robert O'Kelly-Lynch (3-0) and Owen Cosgrove. We will face Easkey/St Farnans in the U14 league final next month.

Our U12 team remain unbeaten in this year's hurling league following their win over Coolera/Strandhill in Round 6 on Tuesday evening. We lead 3-1 at half-time thanks to scores by Ronan Niland, Conor Mostyn and Robert O'Kelly-Lynch. In the second half, the latter continued where he had left off at half-time to ensure victory on a 9-5 scoreline. Brendan Munnelly played a stormer. Ben O'Brien and John Corcoran were also impressive.

Our U14 team travelled to the Connacht GAA Centre on Saturday to participate in the Connacht U14 club FĂ©ile.  We had a good win over St Dominic's (Roscommon) by 2-3 to 1-3 in our first game. Shea O'Neill got our opening point. Our other scorers were Robert O'Kelly-Lynch (1-2) and Aaron Mulvey (1-0). Unfortunately our other two games did not go our way against strong Galway opposition, namely St Thomas's and Abbeyknockmoy. Nonetheless, our lads played exceptionally well as a team and credit in particular to Sean Clifford, Ethan Scully and Keelan Davey who coped well with the incessant pressure being exerted on us. The strong running of both Aaron Mulvey and Oisin Davey was also a feature of the games. Liam O'Kelly-Lynch and Michael Morgan worked tirelessly in midfield and both were rewarded when they got their names on the scoresheet with some well-taken points.  Robert O'Kelly-Lynch also goaled in each game.

Our senior team had a narrow but impressive win in the last round of the group stage of the Dermot Molloy Senior Hurling League last Sunday v Manorhamilton by 3-10 to 3-9.

Our young team performed well in the first half and were leading by 8 points 2-5 to 0-3 at half-time. The two first half goals were scored by Colm Dolan in the first few minutes and Gerard O'Kelly-Lynch at the end of the half. In the second half Manorhamilton had an increasingly stronger wind advantage and pegged back the deficit to reduce the deficit to the narrowest of margins. Some heroic defending from keeper Conor McGovern, and backs Kieran Cawley, Matt Davey and Tomas O'Callaghan ensured that we captured the two points. Colm Dolan added his second and the team's third goal in the second half.
