Our minor hurlers got their championship ambitions back on track with a 2-14 to 4-5 win over Tourlestrane in Kent Park on Tuesday. The visitors made the early running and lead 2-4 to 0-5 midway through the first half, our scores coming from the sticks of Tony O'Kelly-Lynch (3) and Roan Conneely (2). However, as the half progressed Alan Kelly and Niall Feehily began to dominate the midfield sector and four unanswered points, compliments of Roan Conneely and Tony O'Kelly-Lynch (3f), left us just a point in arrears at the break. A goal and two points by Donal Fidgeon and a well-taken point by Darragh Cawley on the resumption put us in the driving seat. Two further Conneely points and a late goal from the penalty spot by Tony O'Kelly-Lynch ensured victory for us on a 2-15 to 4-5 scoreline. Team: Conor McGovern, Aaron Rooney, Darragh Cawley, Cian Muldowney, Michael Kilcoyne, Niall Campbell, Alan Kelly, Niall Feehily, Roan Conneely, Tony O'Kelly-Lynch, Donal Fidgeon, Michael Munnelly, Fergal O'Kelly-Lynch. Sub used: Adam Lynch. On Thursday we host Tubbercurry in Kent Park at7pm in Round 3 of the MHC.

Best of luck to our u12 hurlers who face Benbulben Gaels in the A1 final in Markievicz Park tonight (Tuesday) at 6.45pm. Best wishes also to our U10 hurlers who will be participating in a blitz in Easkey on Wednesday.

Our u16 hurlers get their hurling championship campaign under way on Monday (25th) with an away fixture against Tubbercurry.

Great start for our youthful senior team in their first game of the group stages of the Sligo Senior Hurling Championship. They came back from 1-10 to 0-1 down to defeat 2015 finalists 4-12 to 1-13 with a super performance at the end of the first half and throughout the second period. The lads displayed great fight, hard work and talent to overcome a poor start to the game as Aidan Morrisona d Daniel Kirby picked off scores with relative ease in the opening 20 minutes. We recovered in the last ten minutes outscoring a strong Gaels team by 3-3 to 0-1 with Colm Dolan plundering 2 excellent goals, and Paul Kilcoyne grabbing the second from a long range free. We resumed after the break with some excellent defending and some super scores from Stephen Henry (1-0), Tony O'Kelly-Lynch (who dominated throughout), and captain Mattie Davey.  County dual star Gerard O'Kelly-Lynch performed well at centre-forward with 0-2 from play, and backs Liam Henry, Aaron Corcoran, Eoin Davey, Ger Leamy, keeper Tom O'Callaghan, and full back David Hickey battled fearlessly in the second half.

Our team was: Tom O'Callaghan; Ger Leamy, David Hickey, Eoin Davey; Liam Henry, Matt Davey (0-3), Aaron Corcoran; Paul Kilcoyne (1-1), Tony O'Kelly-Lynch (0-6); Geoff Corcoran, Gerard O'Kelly-Lynch (0-2), Stephen Henry (1-0); Robert Hickey, Colm Dolan (2-0), Niall Rooney. Sub: Joe Davey.

Next game is away to Tourlestrane on Sunday evening. Training at 8pm Wednesday in Kevinsfort.
