The Ladies Junior team made their exit from the Championship losing out narrowly to Curry last Sunday.The Gaels dominated the first half, however this was not reflected on the scoreline at half time and we were only ahead by four points. In the second two quick goals from Curry gave them the upper hand but the Gaels never gave up and with late goals from Naomh Quinn and Simone Kelly, the Gales got back into the game drawing level in the last five minutes. Curry finished stronger and won by two points in the end on a scoreline of 3-8 to 2-9. The team was: Meabh McDermott, Aoife Morrisroe, Edel Lyons, Catherine Tuohy, Lisa Callaghan, Chloe McTiernan, Eilis O'Connor, Aoife Brennan, Siobhan Brennan, Erin Mullaney (0-3), Louise Merrick (0-1), Naomh Quinn (1-0), Roisin Kearns, Simone Kelly (capt) (1-3), Mairead Tuohy (0-1). Subs: Sonia McDermott, Aisling Boyd, Sheona Leydon, Fiona Baker, Aoife O'Connor.  Thanks to all the Ladies and manager Gus Chapman for their efforts during the year. Despite not achieving success this year, the future looks bright for this team with many young players coming through to supplement the more experienced players.

All roads lead to Bunninadden this Saturday when we take on St Michaels in the Intermediate Championship at 5.30PM while the Junior team take on St Marys on Sunday in the Junior A Championship in Markievicz Park at 12.00PM - please come out and support both teams.

The Girls U18 team have a busy week, taking on St Mary's away on Wednesday at 7PM and Owenmore Gaels at home on Sunday 13th.

The Boys U16 team drew 3-13 to 4-10 with St Johns in the first round of the championship last week. The team was:- Adam Kearns, Aaron McKenna, Andrew McGreevy, Dylan Mullen, Eoin Dwyer, Charlie Mullen, Conor Kearns, Sean Carroll (1-1), Lee Duignan (1-9), Brendan Hailstones (1-0), Darragh Kelly (0-1), Conor McMorrow (0-1) Ryan Fitzpatrick (0-1), Subs: Aodhan Eivers, Patrick Barrett, Shane Dwyer.

The U12 Division 1 team play Owenmore Gaels this Tuesday at home at 6PM in the Cup semi- final while the Division 3 team play Coolera at 8PM in Ransboro in the shield semi-final also on Tuesday.

The girls U12 play St Maloise Gaels away on Friday at 7PM.

Hard luck to the Sligo Minor team who put in a great performance against Derry in the All Ireland Quarter final last Saturday.

There was no winner of the lotto last week with the numbers drawn 6. 12, 16, 31. Adrian Devine was the only match 3 winner. The next draw is this Saturday in Des McDonaghs with the jackpot at €1,700.

There will be a used clothes, sheets, curtains, soft toys, shoes etc in during the month of August. Please drop bags into the clubhouse before 26th August for further details contact Michelle McMorrow on 0876157455. 

The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Angela McGowan, Gleann who died last week and to the Carty family on the tragic death of Glenn Carty, Drum, Ballygawley
