Intermediate Champions
Our
Intermediate team having been successful in capturing the Sligo title went down
to a very competitive Galway champions, Claregalway in the Connacht semi-final
in Markievicz Park. All the players that have played throughout this campaign
can be proud of their efforts. Since the start of the year they have worked
hard and they have improved game by game and they can look forward to a return
to senior championship football next year. The players have been guided along
the way by a highly motivated management team of Dara McGarty, Michael
McNamara, Fergal Kelly, Shane Stenson and Gerry Quinn and their back-up men
Owen McLean and Ray Finan. The amount of work that these guys have put in
during the year has been phenomenal and St Johns club owe them a great debt of
gratitude. Their attention to detail, the care they showed for the players and
the positive attitude they passed on to them were huge factors in the
successful year that the team had. Thanks you lads for a great year and we will
celebrate your success in the new year with a suitable function on January 27th
so keep that date in your social diary.

30th Anniversary
Celebration Book
A very
successful night was held in The Sligo Park Hotel at the official launch of our
30 Year Anniversary Book. The large crowd was entertained with different
discussion panels describing the life and times of St Johns over the last 30
years. The book is a fine production, full of interesting articles and
interviews with people associated with the club over those years. There are
many match reports and pictorial records of football and social events as well
as descriptions of the progress the club has made. It is a most colourful
production and will make an ideal Christmas present for a loved one at home or
abroad. The book can be purchased from club members or in local shops. For
further information contact Tommy at 086-0793791.
