Senior Team

Our senior team suffered defeat at the hands of Eastern Harps in the Belfry Senior Championship relegation play-off played in Connolly Park, Collooney on Sunday on a scoreline of 1-13 to 2-6. St Johns, playing into a strong breeze led by 1-3 to 0-3 mid way through the first half but Harps rallied to lead by 0-9 to 1-4 at half time. In the second half even though St Johns fought hard they could not peg back the Harps lead. They now go into a relegation final against neighbours Drumcliffe-Rosses Point

Junior Team

On Sat evening next St Johns junior team welcome Castleconnor to Stenson Park, Cuilbeg at 5.30 for the quarter final of the Lola Montez Junior B County Championship

Minor Team

Our minor team take on our neighbours St Marys in Kent Park at 6.30 on Fri Sept 14th in the final group game.

Under 16 Team

Our under 16 team having qualified for the championship final where they will face Easkey/Enniscrone/Kilglass. The final has been fixed for next Monday Sept 17th .Please check local press or the Sligo GAA website for venue and time. Please come along and support these young players.  

Under 14 Boys

Our Under 14 boys were the pride of the club last week when they captured the Shield trophy in the Sligo Centre of Excellence, Scarden on Monday evening by defeating St Patricks, Dromard by comprehensive 3-14 to 1-4. St Johns, playing with the use of the breeze in the first half, played some wonderful football and built up a substantial lead to go into the break with the score at   3-8 to 0-1. In the second half they maintained their workrate and ran out deserving winners. Well done to the team and management on a job well done.

St Johns Lotto

There was no winner of the Jackpot prize of E12,350 in the last draw. The winners of the E25 consolation prizes were Eoin and Ciara Ward, Carraroe; Catherine Mc Morrow, Cairns Rd.; Peter Scully, Carraroe and Matthew Conneely, Tonaphubble. Lotto tickets for the next draw which will be held in Molly Fultons, Carraroe on Sun Sept 16th at 6.00 pm can be purchased at the following outlets- Molly Fultons, Carraroe; Mc Morrow’s Shop, Cairns Rd.; Clifford Electrical, Carraroe; The Crozon Inn, Caltragh; Cannings House and Garden, Cornageeha and The Blue Lagoon, Riverside.

Under 14 Girls

The best of luck to our Under 14 girls squad who will act as ball-girls at the All Ireland TG4 Ladies finals in Croke Park on Sunday next and to their supporters who are travelling in force. We wish you all a great day and a safe journey.

Sympathy

The St Johns club wish to pass sympathy to Gerry Quinn and family on the death of his brother-in-law in Mayo and to the Barrett family on the death of Marian’s sister in Manorhamilton.

Operation Transformation

The club propose to have a “slimmed-down” Operation Transformation beginning in October. Please keep a check on these notes for updates.
