County final

October 14th 2018: A Super Sunday. The hosting of the Sligo Minor and Senior Championship finals at Quigabar for the first time since 1987 proved to be a resounding success on Sunday last, as the club hung out its brightest colours to welcome the participating teams, GAA President John Horan and the Sligo GAA faithful. From start to finish the day went off without a hitch thanks to our large band of stewards – almost 100 high vis vests were dotted around the ground and surrounds – coordinated by Mixie Jacob, Joe Cawley and Johnny Mullaney. A sincere thanks to anyone who helped out in any way to cater for the crowd of approximately 2000, and to our ladies committee who looked after our special guests and officials with their customary efficiency. Well done also to our pitch committee who had the playing surface in immaculate condition for both games. Congratulations to Tourlestrane and St Molaise Gaels on their respective successes and commiserations to Tubbercurry and Shamrock Gaels. It truly was a day that will live long in the memory for anyone associated with Enniscrone/Kilglass.

Minor

Well done to the Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey minor team who captured the A Championship shield last Wednesday evening with a 3-10 to 1-12 defeat of Curry. Despite falling well behind in the early stages of the second half, the lads retrieved the situation with a remarkable comeback late on. Well done to all the players and management on this success.

U-21

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey U-21 footballers are scheduled to get their championship campaign underway next Sunday at home to Tubbercurry/Cloonacool from 1pm at Quigabar.

Wedding bells

Best wishes to Intermediate team footballer Mark Gordon and Annemarie Gaughan who get married next weekend in Belmullet.

Club lapel pins

There are a limited number of lapel pins showcasing the club crest – and importantly the correct spelling of Enniscrone as Gaeilge agus as Béarla – available at present. They are a quality item that would make a great present, and also show your support for the upcoming plebiscite on the town name. They are available from any committee member for €10.
