The Senior team kept up their good run of form with a hard earned 1-8 to 0-12 win over Tubbercurry last Friday evening.

The Div 3 team lost 3-11 to 0-8 to a strong Tourlestrane side last Saturday in the league. The team was: Mark Tuohy, Shane Barry, Eoin O'Connell, Gavin McMorrow, Michael Hannon, Keith McMorrow, Alan Kelly, Patrick Benson (0-1), Eoin Carroll (0-1), Daire Kearns, Dylan Willis, Colin Harte, Brendan Hailstones, Michael Barry, Steven Willis (0-3). Subs: Liam Tuohy (0-1) for A Kelly, Niall Whelan (0-1) for D Kearns, Ryan Fitzpatrick (0-1) for M Barry, Eoin McDermott for C Harte, Declan Benson for P Benson.

The U14 girls play in the A Shield final Monday at 7.30PM in Coola against Coolera/Strandhill while the U14 boys play Coolera/Strandhill away this Thursday at 7PM.

The U12 girls play Owenmore Gaels in the A Plate final this Saturday at 4.30PM in Tubbercurry while the U12 boys play Enniscrone/Kilglass away on Tuesday at 7PM.

The U8 and U10 have a blitz this Wednesday at 7PM in Geevagh.

Well done to the Sligo U17 team and Lee Deignan who defeated Mayo in the Championship last Friday. Well done also to the Sligo U20 team and Gaels members Daniel Lyons, Evan Lyons, Karl McKenna, Shane Deignan, James Carroll, Sean Carroll and Dillon McDermott who defeated Longford in the League last Saturday to top the group and make the final against Tyrone on 15th June.

There was no winner of the lotto last weekend with the numbers drawn 4, 8, 14, 18 with one match 3 winner, Kay Hannon while Jim Taylor won the house draw. The jackpot now stands at €1,600 with the next draw in Hartes on 15th June.

Well done to club member Martin Baker on his re-election last weekend to Sligo County Council. Well done also to Gerard Mullaney, Thomas Healy and Thomas Walsh on their election. It is great achievement to have four elected representatives from the local area.

It has been a great week for sport in the area with several national awards picked up. They included Aoife Morrisroe who picked up her award for LGFA Division 3 team of the league, Meghan Potter winning an All Ireland Boxing title, Riverstown Community Games winning the U13 Indoor Soccer title while Ardkeeran NS were runners up in the All Ireland FAI 5-a-side with Niall Kenny winning the Player of the Tournament award. Well done to all the winners, ye have done us all proud.   

Best of luck to all the Gaels players who start the Leaving Cert and Junior Cert exams on Wednesday.
