Intermediate
Our Intermediate
team played out a 0-10 to 1-7 draw with St John’s in Division Two of the league
last Sunday in Carraroe. On a windy afternoon, our lads trailed 0-6 to 0-2 at
the break having played into the breeze in the opening half but started the
second half poorly and failed to capitalize on their wind advantage. However, a
wonderful Robert Jacob goal in the closing stages put the lads in front, 1-7 to
0-9, but St John’s equalized as the game entered injury-time. There is no
league action next weekend.
Junior B
Our Junior
B team produced an encouraging display to end as comprehensive 2-17 to 2-3
winners over Owenmore Gaels in their opening league fixture last Friday
evening. This coming Friday, the lads take on Geevagh away at 8pm.
U-16
Our U-16s lost
out to Castleconnor in their shield semi-final on a scoreline of 4-13 to 1-8
last Monday at Quigabar.
U-14
Our U-14s
host Calry/St Joseph’s on Thursday evening from 7pm.
County scene
Well done
to Michael Duffy, Gavin Duffy and Oisin Hynes on the Sligo minors excellent
0-16 to 0-12 win over Mayo on Friday. Eoin Hallinan was a second half
substitute for the Sligo U-20s who qualified for the Philly McGuinness Cup
final following a 1-12 to 0-13 win over Longford. Best wishes to the Sligo
hurlers too – they will hope to continue their encouraging progress when they
take on Warwickshire in the Nicky Rackard semi-finals this weekend.
Blotto
The blotto
draw continues every Saturday night. There was no winner of last week’s jackpot,
so next week’s draw will be for €3800. Thanks to all players for the continued
support.
