Senior Ladies
Ladies intermediate championship result: St. Michaels 4-10
Owenmore Gaels 3-9
An experienced Michaels side reel us in in the second half. A tough learning
curve for our young side. Have had a great season and will pick themselves up
for the remainder of the league. Great progress being made, our day will come.
Good luck to Michaels in the final
Senior Men
JAC Result: Owenmore Gaels 1-14 Tourlestrane 1-9
The lads make it 2 from two in difficult conditions in Cloonacool in the second
round of the Junior A Championship. A tense final 10 minutes saw Tourlestrane
get to within 3 points but the lads pulled together to put two more points on
the scoreboard and see out the game. They play St. Molaise Gaels in two weeks
in the final group stage game with a playoff place already secured.
Minor Boys

U14 Girls
The U14 Girls had a busy schedule this week. First up was their
game against St. Michaels.
This was our first match since the feile Sheild final at the end of June and
there was a little understandable rustiness in some of our play. However as the
game went on the girls grew in confidence and found their rhythm again,
treating us to some of the lovely football we've become accustomed to. With 19
out of the 23 player panel available on the night, everyone played their part
and gave it their all when on the field. We ran out winners on the night in
what was a game of goals with a scoreline of 9-10 to 8-6 against a battling St
Michael's side.
Next, The U14 girls travelled to Geevagh Thursday evening for
their second championship outing of the season.
A slow start with a number of wides from both sides left the scoreline tied at
two points each after the first twenty minutes before Geevagh took control with
two quick goals and a couple of points leaving us trailing 2-4 to 0-4 at half
time. The girls fought back well in the second half with some much improved
support play however we were unable to convert our chances and Geevagh took theirs leaving us trailing by even more
late in the second half. A few late points and a goal brought us to a final
deficit of seven points, restoring some pride on a night when we were beaten by
the better team.
It just wasn't our night and we will learn from
this disappointing defeat and look to improve and push on for the rest of the
championship. Onwards and upwards girls
U12 Girls
Well done to our u12 girls who battled hard Friday evening against
a strong Ballisodare side in terrible weather conditions to come away with the
points on a score line of 17 to 13. The sides were level with 2 minutes to play
and the girls showed great determination to produce the win.
