JOB
TITLE: Performance
Nutritionist, Sligo GAA
PURPOSE &
ROLE
- To develop and
deliver a player centered nutrition support service to Sligo GAA Senior and U20 Gaelic Football and
Hurling teams to optimize each player’s
off-field development and on-field performance.
- To enhance nutrition
knowledge of the players and implement an appropriate nutrition structure
within the environment provided by the multi-disciplinary support team
1. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- An undergraduate degree in nutrition or
dietetics with a recognised post-graduate qualification in a Sport and
Exercise-related subject (eg sports nutrition, exercise physiology, sports
science) OR an
undergraduate degree in a Sport and Exercise Science-related subject with
a recognised post-graduate qualification in nutrition or sports nutrition
- ISAK Level 1
accreditation
- Experience in or evidence of
understanding the provision of nutrition support to athletes and coaches
to support performance, which should include the planning, implementation
and monitoring of specific nutrition programmes in particular in the area
of team sports
- Experience in or evidence of
understanding the ability to modify nutrition advice according to
assessment data, in conjunction with Fitness, Medical, and other support
staff
- Excellent
written and verbal communication skills; an effective and confident
presenter to a range of target audiences
- Appropriate
IT (including dietary analysis), problem-solving and organisational skills
- Full driving
licence
- Eligibility
to work in the EU
Desirable:
- Experience of working
with a team sport for at least one season
- Experience in or evidence of
understanding the provision of education programmes to athletes and/or
coaches including the implementation of behaviour change strategies
- Experience in
academic and/or applied research in the field of performance nutrition
- Anti-Doping

applicant will work with Senior football, Senior hurling, U20 Football and U20
hurling managements to plan the delivery of service to the relevant panels
throughout their seasons.
