Congrats to the DRP minor hurlers who won the county shield title on Sunday in challenging weather conditions at Scarden, beating Calry/St Joseph's in the final by 4-10 to 0-4. It was a fine way to finish the 2022 season and augurs well for this developing group of young hurlers.
A special mention for two other DRP hurlers, Paul O'Brien and Thomas Davis, who both played in their first Sligo senior hurling championship final for Naomh Eoin last Sunday. While the result didn't go the way they had hoped, both men saw game time in the final. Well done lads.
This is a big week for the DRP women's gaelic footballers as they prepare to take on St Croan's of Roscommon in the Connacht LGFA junior club football semi-final this Saturday at 1pm in Enfield. We wish the players and management team led by Tommy Oates the very best of luck. The team would appreciate big travelling club support this Saturday. Bring your hats, flags and badges!
Our men's under-21 footballers begin their 'A' championship challenge this Saturday afternoon when they travel to Corran Park to take on Ballymote/Bunninadden in the county semi-final. Throw-in is at half-past-three. The competition is straight knockout this year. We wish the team the very best of luck.
The curtain came down on our Saturday morning All-Stars coaching last weekend at Rathcormac. A big thank-you to all our players for their hard work throughout the year and to all our coaches and helpers for their support and encouragement every Saturday over the past eight months. Thank you to all the parents and guardians for their taxing to and from training each weekend. We were delighted to be joined by members of the DRP girls and boys minor football teams who presented the end-of-season medals and goodie bags to the players.  We'll be back in the spring of 2023. In the meantime, keep practising.
