Our U.17 GSTM Lads opened their Championship campaign with a 4-point win away to Calry/St Joseph’s on Monday night last. Our Lads trailed at half time 1.06 to 3.01 despite having the lion’s share of the possession. Our goal in that first half coming from Jamie. Second half goals from Dara (2), Jamie and Eoghan sealed victory for our lads.
Well done to Charlie Harte, Callum Mc Donagh, Charlie Cawley and Eoghan Rooney who made their championship debuts in this game.
They play St John’s in Rd2 tomorrow night (Monday) in Geevagh at 7pm.
Our U.12 GSTM Girls drew seven scores each with neighbours Shamrock Gaels in their Plate Final on Friday night last. Well done to all concerned. Half time by
Our Junior men defeated Owenmore Gaels in the League on Friday night last. Three goals, two in the first half from Kenneth and Daniel along with a 2nd half goal from Pat saw our lads emerge victorious on a 3.09 to 1.09 Final Scoreline.
Our Senior Men travelled to Keash for a league clash with Eastern Harps on Sunday afternoon last. Harps played with the aid of a stiff first half breeze lead by 0.07 to 0.03.
Harps kicked the first two scores of the 2nd half to go 0.9 to 0.3 ahead, our lads sprung into action shortly after that and kicked five points without reply entering the last ten minutes. Our opponents had three players black carded but our lads ran out of time to lose out by the slenderest of margins (0.10 to 0.09).
Sligo Ladies (Sarah & Jade) were both on the wrong end pf the scoreline lines in their respective Championship games over the past week.
The Minor ladies were defeated by Roscommon, while the Senior side lost out a way to Limerick.
