Backing Sligo’s Revival!

Club Sligo has been central to the success and growth of Sligo GAA over many years and all involved in Sligo GAA are very grateful for the support given by so many over that time.

This has enabled the development of best-in-class facilities in the Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence in Scarden along with notable successes in recent years on the playing fields including two U20 Connacht football final wins and our first Minor football title in 53 years.

The progress has been years in the making through the coaching and development structures and the capabilities built up in the past decade. We need to continue to build on what we have been doing, improving the opportunities available and to respond to the demands of players, clubs and families across the county.

That is the role of Club Sligo - to aid the development work of Sligo GAA, supporting the development of coaching and the provision of opportunities for our young players helping them to grow and develop from their early teens through to adulthood and the competitive environment. We want to give every young player the opportunity to be the best they can be, be that playing for their county if that opportunity presents itself but also with their clubs.

Sligo GAA is close to completing its strategic plan which will launch in the coming months. It will be exciting and ambitious, and Club Sligo will remain as a key part of the funding of Sligo GAA’s activities as we endeavour to build on the progress made to date.
