The County U14 team continue with their trials on Saturday's at 3pm in Forthill.  The trials are nearing an end and the management will have the tough decision of picking only 30 players to represent Sligo out of over 50 girls attending the trials. Any changes to the time or venue of these trials girls will be notified by text.  Best of luck to all involved.

Tommy Gilroy and Emmet Healy have kindly volunteered to manage the County Minor Team for 2013 a meet and greet with a light session will be held this Monday 25th February in Tourlestrane at 7.30pm.  Clubs are asked to send all eligible girls for this standard of football.  While this notice may be late some you are not too late to join.  If you are interested in this group please contact your club secretary who will inform you of new training times.  The County Board is still looking for an U16 manager.  With games running from mid May to July this is a short season and the County is hoping that someone will assist this group for the duration required.  Interested parties are asked to contact a senior member within your club or the County Chairperson Louise Lavin on 0872555963.

The Sligo Sports and Recreation Partnership are holding a “Code of Ethics” course on March the 11th from 6.30 to 9.30pm in the Embassy, Sligo.  All new and existing members holding a position where they are mentor over a team or a senior role within the club or County Board are encouraged to attend this course.  Please contact your club secretary for an application for this Course.  (Places fill up quickly so don’t delay)

Last year the Sligo County Board launched a new fundraising initiative in association with the Carers Association of Ireland.   A ribbon has been specially designed with both logo's for St. Patricks Day. This ribbon will be on-sale all over Sligo in selected outlets and will sold on the streets in the weeks coming up to St. Patricks Day.  Each ribbon will cost €2.  The proceeds will be split with the Ladies association and with The Carers Association.   All clubs have been given there portion of Ribbons for 2013 to sell and they will be actively selling them over the coming weeks, so your support will be greatly appreciated. 

The Ladies County Team is playing away next Sunday the 3rd March against Leitrim at 2pm in Ballinamore.  Your support for this game would be much appreciated.

Sligo County Board are hosting a Rules Seminar (Mentor Program).  It will take place on Monday 4th March
@ 7.30pm in the Embassy Rooms Sligo.  It is being ran by a Croke Park Representative.  This seminar is open to all members of the Ladies Association that wish to attend.  Players / Managers / Trainers / Officers / Qualified Referees / New Referees.  It covers topics such as the Injury Fund / Important Playing Rules / Any New Rules Introduced and also allows for questions session.  Rule books and various helpful flyers will be issued at this event free of charge.  It has received good feedback in the past and has proven to be very helpful to those that attend. Please contact your club Secretary to express your interest as numbers have to be returned to the Count Board.

We received correspondence from St. Mary's Kiltoghert, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim who are running a 7-a-side GAA Tournament on Saturday 6th April. They are inviting 32 ladies and 32 mens teams to enter on a first come basis.  This is a good time to get your team kickstarted for the year ahead.  The entry fee is €150 per team this includes a meal for the panel of twelve and two mentors.  Interested clubs can contact me for application forms or go direct to Mary Glancy (Mob:  00353 86 8446960 / Email:  maryglancy1@gmail.com) from the organizing committee.
