2nd Connacht Council Delegate Elected

There were 3 nominations in for the second vacancy of Sligo Delegate to Connacht Council before last nights March monthly meeting of the County Board which was held in the Radisson Hotel. The vacancy became vacant after Joe Queenan stepped down as delegate to Connacht Council at last months county board meeting in february after being elected as Treasurer at the same meeting.

Nominations were:
Christy Murphy from the St. John's Club
Richard Brennan from the Bunninadden Club &
John Niland from the Curry Club

Christy Murply withdrew his name on the night.

The contest was then between Richard Brennan & John Niland which went to a vote and was won by Richard Brennan
from the Bunninadden Club.

Richard vowed to assist all clubs in the county in relation to all matters from a Connacht Council perspective!
John Niland congratulated Richard on his election and said he will continue to work as secretary of the Coiste na Nog!
Richard now joins Padraig Duffy as the two Sligo Delegates to Connacht Council for the coming year.

Cyril Feehily wished Richard the best of luck as the new delegate to Connacht.
