Elverys GAA GPA Youth Camps
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and
Gaelic Players Association (GPA) recently launched the Elverys GAA/GPA Youth
camps, offering the chance for juvenile boys aged between 13 to 15 years of age
to learn the skills of Gaelic football and hurling from their GAA heroes, in
high quality venues across the country over a two week period, from 24th
June to 28th June and 1st July to 5th July.
The camps will be run by inter-county players
and will see youths get an insight into the life of an inter-county player in
an action packed week that will include conditioned games, skills development,
mental preparation, sports nutrition and athletic development. All participants
will receive a limited edition Elverys Sports pack while there will also be an
exciting skills competition with the chance to win a Lenovo laptop in each
camp. The camps will be co-ordinated by leading GAA players such as Bernard
Brogan (Dublin football), Michael Murphy (Donegal football), Michael Fennelly
(Kilkenny hurling), Brendan Maher (Tipperary Hurling) and Darran O’Sullivan
(Kerry football).

Connacht GAA Magazine “Into the West” is approaching soon on this coming Friday
7th June. If any club is interested in putting their club

Kelloggs Cul Camps
The
annual Kelloggs Cul Camps are fast approaching from the 1st of July
until 2nd August. The Sligo
County Co-Ordinator is games manager Liam Og Gormley. The Camps will run in
various grounds around the county. From the 1st of July to the 5th
of July camps will be held in the following grounds: Tourlestrane, Geevagh and
Coolera/Strandhill. From the 8th of July to the 12th of
July camps will be held in the following grounds: St. Mary’s, Ballymote and St.
Michaels. From the 15th of July to the 19th of July camps
will be held in the following grounds: Tubbercurry, Drumcliffe/Rosses Point
(Oxfield) and Eeastern Harps(Keash). From the 22nd of July to the 26th
of July camps will be held in the following grounds: Enniscrone/Kilglass, St.
Moliase Gaels and Shamrock Gaels. From the 29th of July to the 2nd
August camps will be held in the following grounds: Calry/St. Josephs, St.
Farnan’s, Owenmore Gaels and Curry. For more information about the Kelloggs Cul

U-16 Fr. Manning Cup
The U-16
Football Development Squad will be taking part in the Fr. Manning Cup Tournament
at the end of this month with 5 rounds to be played each Wednesday respectively
from the 26th of June, starting with a home game against Westmeath followed
by two away games to Offaly on the 3rd of July and Roscommon on the
10th of July and then two final home games against Longford on the
24th of July & Leitrim 24th July with play-offs if
necessary on the 31st of July with Cup & Shield finals on the 7th
of August. Aidan Rooney is the manager of our U-16 Development Squad so we wish
them the very best of luck in this tournament.
Puck
Fada,
The
Hurling Board is running a Puck Fada competition on Friday 21st of June.
To Coney
Island and back from Coolera. Competition is open to all hurling clubs in the
county for U-16’s age group and Senior level. With either 1 or 2 from each club
allowed to- take part. Winners will become County Sligo Champions, then go on
to represent the county at Connacht level followed by All-Ireland Series. More
detailed information will follow.
