Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Club notes Monday 22nd July
It's a big week for two of our minor footballers. Jasmine Dunleavy and Gemma O'Callaghan are part of the Sligo minor football team who are preparing for Saturday's All-Ireland minor 'B' championship final against Tyrone at Brewster Park in Enniskillen. We wish the team the very best of luck.

Our senior men's footballers made it eight wins out of eight in Division 2 of the league last Saturday evening with a 0-19 to 0-4 win over Easkey at Oxfield. With promotion to Division 1 already assured, the team now prepare for a league final against Enniscrone/Kilglass.

Hard luck to our boys minor footballers who lost out to St Molaise Gaels in the group stage of the 'A' championship last Thursday in Grange, on a final scoreline of 4-11 to 1-15. The team play St Mary's (away) next Tuesday evening (July 30th).

Our girls under-16 footballers made a winning start to their championship campaign at Oxfield last Thursday with a 1-8 to 0-9 win against Curry. Next up is a trip to St Mary's this Thursday evening.

Well done to both our boys U15 football teams who recorded wins against St Mary's last week in their respective opening championship matches. The teams have games this week away to Easkey (Wed) and St John's (Thurs).

The boys U13 footballers play Eastern Harps in the 'A' championship this Friday evening at Oxfield.

The Drumcliffe Community Games boys U11 hurlers were Sligo's representatives in the Connacht semi-final last Saturday in Kiltubrid. The team produced a fine display before losing out to Moore of Roscommon. Our thanks to coaches Jimmy O'Brien and Aidan O'Reilly for all their support and encouragement.

The online timesheet for this year's DRP Golf Classic is now open. The nine-hole event takes place on Friday, August 16th, at the Bomore Course in Rosses Point. There are four timeslots to choose from. Teams of four - and the event is open to all. Adults €25, Juniors €15. Some great prizes to be won including a city hotel break in Limerick, courtesy of the Raddison Hotel, Sligo. You'll find the link to the timesheet on the club's Facebook page - or on drp.gaa.ie.

St. Patricks Club notes Monday 22nd July
U14 girls kicked off their championship this week with a tight contest against Shamrock Gaels. Unfortunately, we lost by two kicks of the ball St. Pat's 2-5 to Shamrock Gaels 3-6. The girls play round 2 at home this week v Calry/St. Joseph's at 7pm Monday evening 

U18 boys had a busy and successful week. Monday evening saw them take on St. Mary's away in Kent Park, both sides battled hard but the lads maintained their half time lead with a 3-10 to 1-07 finish. Thursday evening took the lads to Corran park which saw them securing a big win against the home team St. Pat's 4-15 to Ballymote/Bunninaden 2-08. They have a week break until they'll play St. Molaise Gaels at home Wednesday 31st July.

U16 girls also started their championship campaign this week and after a tough league they had a well deserved draw at home against Calrry/ St. Joseph's. The crossbar was not on their side as 3 goal chances bounced out at the last second but the girls were delighted with the draw all the same. They take on Coolera/Strandhill away this Thursday 25th at 7pm.

Both Senior Men teams finished up their respective leagues this week. Our division 2 team finished on a good win over Owenmore Gaels maintaining their division 2 status for next year St. Pat's 1-20 to 2-9. Unfortunately, in contrast our division 3 team finished with a tough loss against Eastern Harps 4-22 to 0-12. Both teams will now be focusing on their preparation for championship, Intermediate kicks off weekend of 17th of August with the Junior B starting up the following week. Best of luck to both teams, their management and supporters for the remainder of the season.

Well done to Anne McMunn who won the draw for the Hurling final ticket that took place this weekend. The draw for 3 All Ireland tickets will take place this week. Shamrock Gaels Club notes Monday 22nd July
The Senior Div 1 men lost 0-11 to 1-5 away to Tourlestrane last Friday. They are next out on Saturday 3rd at home to Calry/St Josephs.

The Senior Div 3 team had a good 4-12 to 2-11 away win over Cloonacool last Saturday. The team was: Jack Duignan, Jack Tuohy, Paul Brennan, Shane Barry, Gavin McMorrow, Daniel King, Arron Coleman, James Carroll (0-1), Conor Kearns (1-0), Eoin Dwyer, Liam O'Connell (0-2), Seamus Hailstones (1-0), James Foley (0-4), Frank Quinn (2-0), Johhny Quinn (0-5). Subs: Conor McMorrow for J Foley, Sam Tuohy for D King,  Their next game is on Sunday 4th August at home to Eastern Harps.

The Senior Div 4 team lost 1-16 to 0-7 to Geevagh on Sunday. The team was: Eoin McDermott, Jamie Parke, Diarmuid Jinks, Gavin McMorrow, Declan Willis, Niall Whelan, Adrian McCann (0-1), Eoin Dwyer, Callum Kennedy, Brian Dwyer, PJ Regan (0-1), James Conlon, Keith Candon (0-5). They now take on Coolaney/Mullinabreena away on Bank Holiday monday 5th August. 

The U18 boys made it three wins out of three over Coolaney/Mullinabreena last Tuesday in the Championship. The team was Jack Brehony, Joseph O'Connor, Tadhg Kenny, Eoin Feeney, Daniel Kearns, Aaron Coleman, Míceál Garry, PJ Scanlon, Jack Tuohy, Joris Rooney, Darragh McKeon, Matthew Potter, Josh McTiernan, Charlie King subs used Seán Duffy, Rian Conway and Troy Kelly. 

The U16 girls had a good 8-10 to 5-6 win over Eoghan Rua in the opening round of the A championship. The team was Abbie McTiernan, Eva Usher, Ava Lyons, Leah Coleman, Clodagh Galvin, Sophia Rose Henry, Marissa Hamilton, Penny Barlow 
Katie Giligan, Rebecca Garry, Molly Kearns Chapman, Aisling Dwyer, Hannah Rainey, Aalesha Sweeney, Sophie Edwards. Subs used Aoibhinn Conlon, Ella Thompson, Rachel Mullaney, Shanara Middleton and Muireann Bruen. They now play Eastern Harps away on Thursday at 7.00PM. 

The U15 boys play Tubbercurry/Cloonacool away on Thursday 7.00PM.

The U14 girls had a good 3-6 to 2-5 win over St Farnans/St Patrick's in the first round of the championship. The team was: Abbie McTiernan, Eva Callaghan, Sinéad Gilligan, Rachel Mullaney, Rebecca Garry, Eva Usher, Lauren Orr, Clodagh Galvin, Sophie Edwards, Alice Foley, Ciara Scanlon, Méabh Tonry, Síofra Deignan, Kayla Clancy, Kate Flaherty subs used: Sarah Willis, Abigail Conlon and Kaitlin Henry. They now play Eoghan Rua 2 away on Tuesday at 7.00PM.

The U13 C boys play Easkey on Monday evening at home at 7.00PM while the U13 A boys play St Mary's at home on Friday at 7.00PM.

The U12 girls continue to improve every week and played Calry/St Josephs this week. The team was: Sarah Jane Scanlon, Elyse Medas, Aimee Mullaney, Niamh Kennedy, Aoife McNulty, Bronagh Conlon, Keeva Clancy, Savannah Cox, Amy Edwards, Aoife O'Connor, Kate Jinks, Lauren Kearns Chapman, Jessica Conlon, Kate Murrin, and Hollie White.

The U11 girls played Geevagh/St Michaels last week with great skills and scores on display. The team was: Siofra Gildea, Alana McHugh, Leah McManus, Victoria Barlow, Lexi Mullaney, Aoife Garry, Sophie Potter, Clodagh Galvin, Álainn Mc Morrow, Millie Wilkinson, Neveah Cassidy, Shauna McTiernan and Kayla Barrett. 

The U11 boys play Owenmore Gaels away on Tuesday at 7.00PM while the U9 boys play Owenmore Gaels at home on Wednesday at 7.00PM.

The U10 and U8 girls play Curry this Wednesday in Riverstown Park at 7.00PM.

The U7 boys and girls play Geevagh at home on Tuesday at 6.45PM.

The winner of the 50/50 draw last week was Maura Flood who won €1,240 while Ken Kyne won the additional draw for the All Ireland Football tickets.

The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Joyce Best, Dublin and formerly of Carranspraun, Riverstown who died last week.

Team of the week goes to the U16 girls who won the Division 1 Shield final on a scoreline of 2-7 to 2-5 in a tightly contested encounter against Eoghan Rua. The team was: Abbie McTiernan, Eva Usher, Ava Lyons, Leah Coleman, Clodagh Galvin, Sophia Rose Henry, Marissa Hamilton, Penny Barlow, Katie Gilligan, Molly Kearns Chapman, Aalessha Sweeney, Aisling Dwyer, Isabelle Clancy, Sophie Edwards, Rebecca Garry subs: Aoibhinn Conlon, Roisin Kelly, Aibhe Kelly, Hannah Rainey, Ella Thomson, Shanara Middleton, Muireann Bruen, Abigail Conlon and Rachel Mullaney. They are straight into championship action this Thursday playing Eoghan Rua at home at 7.30PM.

The men's div 1 team continued their good run of form with a 2-16 to 0-12 home win over Tubbercurry. They now play Tourlestrane away next Friday at 7.30PM.

The men's div 3 team drew 1-13 to 2-10 against Drumcliffe/Rosses Point. The U18 boys recorded their second win of the championship with a 5-9 to 1-7 win over Castleconnor. The U14 girls play the first round of the championship on Monday at home to St Patrick's/St Farnans at 7.00PM.

The U13C boys lost 8-15 to 3-6 to a strong Owenmore Gaels team last Monday. The team was: John Callaghan, Brian Merrick, Cillian Conboy, Shane Henry, Ben Caliendo, Dylan Leydon, Euan Bergin, Michael O'Connor, Finn O'Hara, Alfie Mctiernan, Sean McMorrow and Frankie Willis. 

The U13 A boys had a good 7-3 to 1-10 win over Curry in their opening game of the championship. The team was: Ben Caliendo, Brian Merrick, Sean Cogan, Cillian Doherty, Oisin Conway, Karl Barlow, Cillian Conboy, Marc Kenny, Eoin Mc Morrow, Éanna Candon, Nathan McManus, Nathan Fallon, Dylan Leydon, Daire Regan, Darragh Quigley. Subs uses Sean McMorrow, Shane Henry and Euan Bergin.

The U12 girls play Calry/St Josephs away on Thursday at 7.00PM.
The U11 girls play Geevagh/St Michaels at home on Thursday at 6.30PM.

Congratulations to Gaels player Leanne Galvin and the Sligo U18 team who defeated Clare in the All Ireland B semi final. They will now play Tyrone in the Final on Saturday 27th July.

Good luck to the Riverstown Community Games U12 girls who represent Sligo in the Connacht Community Games this weekend.

The winner of last week's 50/50 draw was Noreen McDermott who won €656.

The club was saddened to hear of the passing of Gerry Harte, Riverstown. We wish to express our sympathy with family, relatives and friends on their loss. The club held a guard of honour at Gerry's removal and a minute silence was observed at the weekend games in Gerry's memory. We also express sympathy with the King family, relatives and friends on the passing of Joe King, Crossmaglen and formerly of Riverstown who died last week.

St. Patricks Club notes Monday 15th July

U13 boys played Drumcliffe/Rosses Point at home last Monday for their second championship outing. Unfortunately, despite an impressive number of goals it wasn't their night. St. Pats 6-4 DRP 3-19


U18 Boys played their first championship game against Coolera/Strandhill Wednesday night last. They racked up an impressive number of scores but the conceded goals meant they lost out in the end with a 2-11 to 6-5 scoreline. They play twice this week, Monday away at 7 for their round 1 game against St. Mary's which was postponed and away to Ballymote at 7pm Friday for round 3.


Our Senior Men Division 3 team had a hard fought game against Cloonacool last Friday. They had many great moments in the game but lost out to the stronger side. They play Eastern Harps away this Saturday at 7pm.

The Senior Men Division 2 team had a better evening out against Ballymote. A good lead at half had the lads working hard in the second half to make sure they came out deserved winners. Final score St. Pats 2-15 to 1-12. They play Owenmore Gaels at home this Friday at 7.30pm.


Best of luck to our U14 and U16 girls who begin their championship divisions this week. U14s are away to Shamrock Gaels at 7pm Monday 15th and U16s are at home to Calry Thursday 18th at 7pm. Good luck to all players coaches, parents and supporters for the remainder of their season.


The club would like to congratulate local athlete Lauren Cadden on her selection to head to Paris as part of the Olympic team representing Ireland. She's on the panel for the mixed and women's 400m relays. Best of luck Lauren on such a massive achievement.


Well done to Sean Kelly, Diarmuid Clarke and Daniel Connolly who played with Sligo last weekend at Connacht GAA Academy Day. They played teams from Roscommon, Mayo, Galway and Leitrim. Thanks to all involved for a great experience for the players.

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Club notes Monday 8th July
Our senior men's footballers made it six wins from six in Division 2 of the league with a 1-15 to 1-8 win over Owenmore Gaels at Oxfield last Saturday. They remain joint-top of the table with Enniscrone/Kilglass. The team travel to Highwood this Saturday evening (July 13th) to play Geevagh at 7pm.

The senior team's opening championship match will be against Curry on the weekend of August 24/25th. DRP has a bye in round 1 of the round-robin phase this year.

Our junior men's team got a walkover v St Pat's in Division 3 at the weekend. Next up is a trip to Shamrock Gaels on Friday evening.

Our junior women's footballers travel to south Sligo this Saturday evening to play CT Gaels in a Division 4 league play-off. Throw-in is at 7pm.

The DRP girls U16 footballers play Curry in a Shield play-off this Wednesday night in Ballisodare at 8pm.

The championship starts this week for our two boys U15 football teams as they play St Mary's in their respective opening matches at Oxfield on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Our girls under 14 Division 1 team begin their championship next Monday evening, away to St Nathy's at 7pm. The Division 4 team (team 2) play Eoghan Rua in west Sligo next Tuesday evening, also at 7pm.

Our boys U13 footballers made a winning start to their 'A' championship campaign last Friday evening in Oxfield with a 3-13 to 0-10 win over St Mary's.

DRP hosted an boys U11 football blitz at Oxfield last Saturday, featuring visiting clubs from counties Donegal, Leitrim and Mayo. Special thanks to St Eunan's, St Mary's Kiltoghert, Melvin Gaels and Ballina Stephenites for making the journey. O'Brien & Associates kindly sponsored all the silverware on the day , which was a big success in its inaugural year. Thank you to all the parents and club volunteers who helped make the event such an enjoyable one.

Our girls U8 and U10 football teams continue their series of Go Games matches this Friday evening against Shamrock Gaels and CT Gaels respsectively.

Our final Saturday All-Stars coaching session before the mid-summer break takes place at Rathcormac this Saturday (July 13th) at the usual times. We'll then take a break for a few weeks - before resuming on Saturday, August 17th.

Our Annual Golf Classic returns on Friday, August the 16th at the Bomore Course at Co Sligo Golf Club in Rosses Point. It's a nine hole scramble - and is open to both adult and juvenile players. Teams of four (Adults €25 & Juveniles €15). There will be four timeslots on the day: 08:30, 11:30, 14:30 & 17:30. The timesheet goes live on drp.gaa.ie and social media pages this week where you book your preferred time. It will also be shared by the DRP club team message groups and coaches.

Good luck to the DRP players involved in the Sligo U16 team who play Offaly in the Fr Manning Cup this Saturday in Scarden at 12 noon.

The Club Meeting for July will take place on Monday, July 22nd in Oxfield at 8:30pm.

The club extends deepest its deepest condolences to the Leonard family in Carney, following the passing of Stephen Leonard last week; to the Regan family following the death of John Regan (Drum Road) - and to the Job family in Carney following the passing of Ocky Job -all over the past seven days.
