Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club notes Monday 7th July

Adult 

Our intermediate footballers lost out to Eastern Harps last weekend by 2-18 to 1-10 at Quigabar. The defeat means we will play league football in Division Two next season. 

Our lads play St Mary's in their final league match on Friday evening next from 7.30pm in Kent Park. 

Our Junior 'B' footballers have now turned their attention to the championship which is due to get underway in August. 

Minor

Our minor team fell to a 1-17 to 2-12 defeat to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in their first championship match last week. Tonight (Tuesday July 8th), they take on Easkey/St Farnan's at home with throw in at Quigabar at 7pm. 

Under-15

Our under-15s have endured a difficult start to their championship campaign with defeats to Coolera/Strandhill and Drumcliffe/Rosses Point. Having shown good character throughout the course of the league, the lads will undoubtedly bounce back. They travel to Achonry for their next outing against Coolaney/Mullinabreena on Monday July 14th for a 7pm throw-in. 

Under-13

Our under-13s will commence their championship campaign on Friday, July 11th at home to Curry.

Shamrock Gaels Club notes Monday 7th July
Tuesday of this week is your last opportunity to avail of the clothes collection. The clubhouse will be open to drop bags on Tuesday between 5.45 and 9.00PM for receipt of all types of clothing, towels, sheets etc in a clean dry condition. Shoes, boots, bags and soft toys are also accepted.

Our Golf Classic takes place in Castle Dargan on Saturday July 26th - tee times now booking, please contact Niall Kearns on 086 8599792 or Eugene Carroll on 085 8747914 to book your tee time. 

The winner of the monthly members draw for June were Majella Muldowney, Marie Henry and Sean McKeon with Michael Brennan and Noel Benson winning an entry into the 50/50 draw.

The winner of last weeks 50/50 draw was Ciaran Cawley who won €870.

The Senior Men Div 1 team had a comprehensive 5-22 to 0-7 win over Coolaney/Mullinabreena in round 8 of the league last Sunday. They now take on Eastern Harps in Gurteen Community Park in the final game this Friday at 7.30PM for a place in the league final.

The Senior Men Div 3 team also had a good 5-16 to 1-7 win over Owenmore Gaels on Friday. The team was: Sean Kelly, Arron Coleman, Eoin O'Connell, Shane McCann, Jack Brehony (0-2), Declan Willis, Conor Kearns (0-3), David Barlow, Patrick Kenny (1-1), Luke Flynn (0-1), Niall Kenny (2-1) James Carroll (0-2), Steven Willis (1-2), Darragh Hailstones (0-2), Brendan Hailstones. Subs: Dylan Willis (1-0) for B Hailstones. Conor McMorrow (0-2) for D Barlow, Jack Tuohy for S McCann, Liam O'Connell for L Flynn, Seamus Hailstones for D Willis. They now play St Michaels next Sunday at home at 2.00PM.

The senior ladies won their final ACL group game 3-11 to 1-6 against Owenmore Gaels. The team was: Kate Brehony, Eilis O'Connor, Amy Healy, Katie Gilligan, Aaleasha Sweeney, Ava Lyons, Penny Barlow (1-2), Lara Swann, Nola Eivers, Aisling Dwyer (0-1), Ceili Faughnan (0-3), Orlaith Scanlon (0-2), Meave Lyons, Jane Benson (2-2), Hannah Hargadon (0-1). subs used: Molly Kearns Chapman, Louise Merrick Isabelle Clancy. They now play in the quarter-final against St Nathys at home on Sunday at 10.00AM.

The U18 boys lost 8-16 to 4-9 to Castleconnor in the first round of the championship. They now play Calry/St Josephs at home on Tuesday at 6.30PM.

The U16 girls had a one point win over Eastern Harps in the A league semi-final following a strong second half performance. The final score was 2-14 to 5-4. The team was: Abbie McTiernan, Eva Usher, Aleesha Sweeney, Rachel Mullaney, Clodagh Galvin, Ava Lyons, Grainne McDermott, Molly Kearns Chapman, Penny Barlow, Katie Gilligan, Sophie Edwards, Aisling Dwyer, Alice Foley, Siofra Deignan, Shanara Middleton. subs used: Ella Thompson, Kaitlyn Henry, Amy Edwards and Eva Callaghan. They now play St Johns in the A league final away on Monday at 7.00PM.

The U15 boys lost narrowly to Eastern Harps in the opening round of the A championship last Monday on a scoreline of 3-9 to 2-14. The team was: Harry Brehony, Phillip McManus, Karl Barlow, Sean Tonry, Eli Cassidy, Alan Óg Henry, Eoin McMorrow, Dylan McMorrow, Marc Kenny, Leon McMorrow, Daire Regan, Diarmuid Duffy, Sam Rainey, Luke Fitzpatrick, Aaron Brehony. subs used: Eanna Candon, Oisin Conway, Sean McMorrow, Shane Henry, Nathan McManus and Cillian Doherty. They now play Easkey/St Pat's/St Farnans on Monday at 7.00pm in Templeboy.

The U13 boys play St Johns in their first game of the A championship away on Friday at 7.00PM.

Our intermediate footballers played out a 0-14 apiece draw with Coolaney/Mullinabreena in the league last weekend. 

Next up is a meeting with Eastern Harps in Quigabar on Sunday afternoon, with throw in at 2pm. 

Our Junior ‘B’ side fell to a 4-12 to 1-19 defeat to St John’s last week, to bring their league campaign to a close. The championship will begin later in the summer. 

Minor

Our minor team have their first championship match on Tuesday evening (July 1st) away to Drucmliffe/Rosses Point. There’s a 7.45 start in Oxfield. 

Under-15

Our under-15s were due to play Coolera/Strandhill in the first round of the league last Monday.

The Senior Ladies had a good win over St Johns on Sunday morning. The team was: Hannah Hargadon, Amy Healy, Eilis O'Connor (0-1), Katie Gilligan, Ava Lyons (0-1), Maya Wojciechoowska (0-1), Penny Barlow (1-0), Orla Devaney (0-3), Orlaith Scanlon (0-5), Aaleasha Sweeney, Jane Benson (0-3), Aisling Dwyer (0-4), subs: Emma Rainey (0-3), Meave Lyons (1-1), Kate Brehony and Naomh Quinn. They now play Owenmore Gaels in the last group ACL game away on Friday at 7.30PM.

The Men's Div 1 team drew 2-13 to 0-19 with Curry in round 7 of the league. The Gaels led for most of the game but a goal from a penalty in injury time earned Curry a draw. They now play Coolaney/Mullinabreena next Sunday at home at 2.00PM. 

The Men's Div 3 team had a great 4-18 to 3-13 win over Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in round 7 of the league. The team was: Sean Kelly, Arron Coleman, Eoin O'Connell, Shane McCann, Jack Brehony (0-1), Seamus Hailstones, Conor Kearns (0-3), Patrick Kenny, George Barlow (0-1), Luke Flynn (0-3), Darragh Hailstones (0-4), Niall Kenny (1-0), Darragh McKeon (0-2), Paddy O'Grady (1-1), James Foley (2-2). Subs: James Carroll (0-1) for L Flynn, Brendan Hailstones for P O'Grady, Jack Tuohy for S McCann, Gavin McMorrow for J Brehony. Thye now take on Owenmore Gaels on Friday at home at 7.30PM.

The U18 boys play Castleconnor in the first round of the championship away on Tuesday at 7.00PM.

The U16 girls had a hard fought 2-6 to 2-4 win over Owenmore Gaels last Monday in their final group game. This now see them into the league Cup semi-final on Wednesday at home at 6.45PM. The opposition will be confirmed following an outstanding game on Monday.

The U15 boys play their first championship game at home to Eastern Harps on Monday at 7.00PM.

The U12 and U11 girls played well against Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on Thursday last in wet conditions. Both teams improving every week.

The U11 boys play Owenmore Gaels away on Tuesday.

Well done to our U7 boys and girls who played Ballymote last Wednesday last in their first home game of the year.

Aoife McGoldrick our CDO finished up last Saturday morning and we would like to thank her sincerely for her work in the national schools, Sooey, Taunagh, Ardkeerin and Cloghogue and also with our nursery groups and underage teams since last February. We wish her all the best in the future.

We are holding our annual clothes collection at the moment. All types of clothing, towels, sheets etc are accepted in a clean dry condition. Shoes, boots, bags and soft toys are also accepted, You can leave bags off at the clubhouse any evening during the week that there is training or a game and also on Saturday mornings. If you want to arrange another time of have any questions, contact Michelle on 087 6157455.

Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club notes Tuesday 17th June
 Adult

Our Intermediate team suffered a 2-22 to 1-6 defeat to Shamrock Gaels in the league last weekend.

There is a break in action this weekend, with the next game away to Coolaney/Mullinabreena on Saturday week.

On the Division 4B front, our second team return to action on Friday evening next with an away fixture against Shamrock Gaels. Throw in is at half seven in Coola.


Minor

Our under-18 footballers are due to begin their championship campaign away to Drumcliffe Rosses Point on July 1st.

Under-15

Our under-15s open their championship campaign against Coolera/Strandhill on Monday, June 30th.


Under-13

Our under-13 ‘A’ team produced an outstanding display to land the league title in fine style last Thursday following a 5-8 to 1-18 win over St John’s. Our lads had held the upper hand but were forced to respond late on to a strong St John’s comeback. Well done to St John’s on their contribution to a fantastic final.

It was a historic success for our club, representing a first ‘’A’ title since 2004. It was just rewards for the players, their parents and the committed management team of Derek Tuffy, Ronan Tuffy, Trevor Gordon and Dermot Beglane. Well done to everyone involved.

Shamrock Gaels Club notes Monday 16th June
The Senior Div 1 team had a good 2-22 to 1-6 win over Enniscrone/Kilglass last week to move into second place in the Division. They are due to take on Curry in round 7 on Saturday 28th June.

The Div 3 team's next game is Sunday 29th June away to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point.

The Div 4 team take on Enniscrone/Kilglass at home next Friday at 7.30PM.

Hard luck to Sligo Senior team and the Gaels players involved, Evan Lyons, David Quinn, Dillon McDermott, Daniel Lyons, Lee Deignan and Shane Deignan on their exit from the Tailteann Cup and we wish manager Tony McEntee and his management the best of luck.

The Ladies game did not go ahead last Sunday due to a bereavement. New date to be confirmed. 

The U16 girls play St Johns away on Monday at 7.00PM.

The U14 Division 4 girls lost to Eoghan Rua 2 in the Shield final at home last Monday on a scoreline of 3-11 to 5-7. In difficult conditions we led at halftime but a very strong second half performance from Eoghan Rua resulted in a two point win. The team was: Shauna McTiernan, Aoife O'Connor, Ciara Byrne, Keeva Clancy, Lauren Kearns Chapman, Aimee Mullaney, Lauren Orr, Sarah Jayne Scanlon, Bronagh Conlon, Elyse Medas (1-2), Any Edwards (1-4), Niamh Kennedy, Hollie White, Kate Murrin (0-2), Kate Jinks (1-3). subs used Lola Cunnane, Victoria Barlow, Clodagh Galvin, Aoife Garry and Lexi Mullaney.

The U12 girls played Eastern Harps on Saturday at the festival of football in Tubbercurry in what was a great day enjoyed by all.

The U11 boys host Coolera/Strandhill and St Michael's on Tuesday at home at 7.00PM in a blitz.

The u11 girls enjoyed two games this week with Eoghan Rua 2 providing the opposition on Monday and Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on Saturday at the Sligo LGFA festival of Football. 
The U10 girls will play Eastern Harps away on Friday.

The winner of last week's 50/50 draw was Tadhg McMorrow who won €809.
